After our stay in Edinburgh we rented a car and drove up through the highlands to a little town on the northern coast called Nairn. Here we stayed at a wonderful B&B called Ceol Mara.

We must tell you about the breakfast we had there, it was truly one of the most memorable events of our trip. I had the Fisherman's Breakfast - lightly smoked haddock with poached eggs covered in a lemon butter sauce. Decadent. Megan had an even more interesting dish - pancakes topped with scrambled eggs and melted cheese and Scottish bacon and another pancake and smothered in maple syrup. As strange as it sounds it was great.
